First is Quantitative portion:
NTS-GAT preparations
Zakat Calculations.
As Zakat is 2.5% of total amount or divide total amount by 40, you will get the Zakat Amount.
divide by 40 is easy as compared to 2.5% calculation.
Find the Zakat on 48000? or Find the Zakat at rate of 2.5% on 48000?
48000/40= 1200

Question:
Calculate Zakat on 111000?

Statistics:
Mean
Median
Mode
Range
Find the mean, median, mode, and range for the following list of values:
13, 18, 13, 14, 13, 16, 14, 21, 13
1. The mean is the usual average, so:
(13 + 18 + 13 + 14 + 13 + 16 + 14 + 21 + 13) ÷ 9 = 15
2. The median is the middle value, so I’ll have to rewrite the list in order:
13, 13, 13, 13, 14, 14, 16, 18, 21
There are nine numbers in the list, so the middle one will be the
5th number
So the median is 14
3. The mode is the number that is repeated more often than any other, so 13 is the mode.
4. The largest value in the list is 21, and the smallest is 13, so the range is 21 – 13 = 8.
Range=Largest-smallest

Now Find the mean, median, mode, and range for the following list of values:
1, 2, 4, 7, 4

GAT preparations:Quantitative portion:
Percentage questions:
X%=X/100
1%=1/100
(1/X)%=(1/X)*(1/100)
1. What % of 60 is 15?
Ans:
WHAT means unknown so What=(x),
OF means multiplication so Of=(*)
and IS means equal so is=(=)
Now writing equation:
X%*60=15
X%=X/100
So
X/100*(60)=15
x = 15 * 100 / 60
x = 100/4 = 25
Answer: 25
2. 25% of what number is 15?
3. 25% of 60 is what?

GAT preparations
Quantitative portion.
Percentage increase and decrease in Areas/Length/radius…
First try to remind:
Area of:
Circle.
Rectangle.
Triangle.
Cube
their radius formula can be drawn from Area..

Question:
The length of a rectangle is halved, while its breadth is tripled. What is the percentage change in area?
How to Answer:
take original length = x and original breadth = y.
Original area = xy.
As length is halved:
New Length: x/2
As breadth is triple
New Breadth: 3y
New area=New lenght*new breath
New area: (x/2*3y)=3/2(xy)=1.5xy
original area was xy
new area is 1.5xy
1.5xy-xy=0.5xy
So increase is 0.5
which means 50 percent increase:in area

Time and Work Questions:
Work from Days:
If A can do a piece of work in n days, then A’s 1 day’s work = 1/n
Days from Work:
If A’s 1 day’s work = 1/n then A can finish the work in n days
Question:
A can do a work in 15 days and B in 20 days. If they work on it together for 4 days, then the fraction of the work that is left is
Answer:
A’s 1 day’s work = 1/15
B”s 1 days work= 1/20
work together means addition of both
so
(A+B) 1 day’s work =1/15+1/20=7/60
now complete statement was work together for 4 days
so multiply by 4
(A+B) 4 day’s work=7/60(4)=7/15
Now remaining work was 1-7/15=8/15 answer
